Tobie Allen

Tobie Allen

Biography

Bootleg Social Records label owner, promoter and DJ, Tobie Allen has for the last 20 years developing his own unique sound and atmosphere in clubs across continents and around the world. Cutting his dance teeth in Cape Town clubland, Tobie is viewed as a household name. Tobie was one of the few DJ’s that started his craft at the beginning of the Cape Town club scene, in the early 1990’s, without doubt, one of the most wild, wicked and vibrant nightlife destinations in the Southern Hemisphere.

Returning to London, Tobie quickly established his own, branded events in 2005; Bootleg Social and Prohibition, which attracted the interest of some of the biggest names in the business. This truly unique clubbing experience has grown from a small backroom of likeminded souls to an international brand, expanding from London to tours to Ibiza and beyond. Bootleg Social nights have been featured in Australia, Singapore, Austria and Ibiza which has lead to Tobie playing at some of the world’s leading clubs, including Ministry of Sound; We Love @ Space, Cream @ Amnesia, Pacha London, Brixton Academy, Gatecrasher, Pryda @ Alexandra Palace, the annual Snowbombing Festival and many more events over the last 20 years. He has also partnered with such edgy luminaries as Toolroom, Global Underground, Wonderland, SOS, Get Loaded, Stealth, Size, We Love, Full on Ferry, Above & Beyond Trance Around The World, Carl Cox and Mixmag.

From the love of throwing down a deep down dirty party to creating a global record label, Tobie’s Bootleg Social Records garnering major DJ support from industry heavy weights as TIESTO, Markus Schultz, Mark Knight, Richie Hawtin, Eric Morillo, Roger Sanchez, Sister Bliss, Pete Tong, Umek, Joesph Capriati and Marco Carola amongst others, BSR continues to blossom and 2015 looks like another promising year for this fun loving music lover.
